A Legionnaires’ disease outbreak in Central Harlem, New York City, has now resulted in five deaths and 108 confirmed cases. Health officials have identified and remediated the source of the outbreak, which was found in 12 cooling towers across 10 different buildings. The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene stated that new cases have been declining, suggesting that the sources of the bacteria have been contained.
